My game group fell apart over a rules call in Gloomhaven

We were three hours into a Gloomhaven scenario at my friend's place in Cincinnati, and I made a call about monster focus that two players said was wrong. It felt like the right read of the rulebook (page 32, the part about ties and distance), but the table just froze. The whole night kind of died after that, and our weekly game hasn't met since. Has anyone else had a group break up over a single ruling, and did you ever get it back together?

Seriously? Over monster focus in Gloomhaven. That game's rules are a mess anyway. Sounds like an excuse. Groups don't just end over one call. Something else was already broken. Probably just the final straw. Maybe talk to them like adults instead of posting about it.

Gloomhaven's rules are a total mess, yeah.

Yeah, and that's exactly the kind of thing @the_cameron is missing. It's never just about the rule. It's about how people handle the small cracks. Someone digs in on a tiny rule call, and it shows they care more about being right than having fun together. You see it everywhere, not just games. That stubbornness over little things kills groups because it shows a deeper disrespect. The monster focus is just where it finally became too clear to ignore.
