Rant: my buddy flipped the table at game night over a rules call, do you side with him or me?
We were 2 hours into a 4 player game of Twilight Imperium at my place in Austin last Saturday when a fight broke out over whether fighters could move through a system with an enemy ship. My buddy Dan was sure the rulebook said no and I was sure it said yes, so we spent 15 minutes arguing while the other two guys just sat there. I finally pulled up the FAQ on my phone and it turned out we were both wrong, the answer was buried in a living rules doc from 2021. Dan got so mad he stood up and flipped the corner of the table, sent like 40 plastic ships flying across the floor. We spent the next 30 minutes on our hands and knees sorting minis by color while his wife texted him asking when he was coming home. So here is my real question, do you back Dan for being right that I should have just checked the FAQ first, or do you back me for saying you never flip a table no matter what?
Did Dan even help pick up the 40 ships or did he just stand there fuming while you and the other two guys crawled around? Sounds like the real issue is how he handles losing, not who was right about the fighters.
