Teaching my mom root beer bottling after 3 failed game nights

My mom used to zone out halfway through any rules explanation, so we'd end up playing the same 2 games for years. Last month she asked about my homebrew Root Beer and I turned it into a 30 minute teach with visual aids and simple steps, she aced it on the first try. Now I'm wondering if I should try a medium weight worker placement with her, anyone had luck converting non gamers with food themed mechanics?

The food theme is honestly the perfect gateway, it gives her something familiar to grab onto while the mechanics sneak in underneath. Maybe try something like a simple farming game where you're literally planting and harvesting, since that mirrors the patience and payoff of bottling day. That visual connection to the fizzy reward at the end might keep her locked in longer than any rules sheet ever could.
