Tried a solo variant with a timer and it changed how I play

I've been stuck on a heavy euro for a while, so I grabbed a kitchen timer and gave the solo mode a shot with a 90 second limit per turn. Thought it would stress me out, but it actually made me commit to moves instead of second guessing. Finished a three round game in about an hour and a half, which is way faster than my usual two hour slog. Has anyone else found a speed limit helps with analysis paralysis, or does it just make you sloppy?
