Found a trick to stop AI from melting faces together

Honestly, I'm not sure why everyone gets so worked up about a little face melting. I've been messing with these image generators since they first came out and sometimes you just get a bad batch of faces. If you're making art for a gallery opening, sure, worry about every single pixel. But most of us are just goofing around making a giraffe in a tuxedo for fun. Throw in "distinct facial features" and call it a day. The jagged artifacts wilson.sam mentioned are worse than a little mushiness if you ask me.

Watched an influencer try to apology tour after stealing art - they used the wrong city name and it backfired hard

I had a friend who once tried to apologize to a group of people and accidentally said they were from "Los Angeles, California" when they actually lived in San Diego. They meant to say they were from the same area but got the city totally wrong. It was so awkward because everyone just stared at them like they were making stuff up. And then the apology train just went off the rails from there. Like, how do you fix that mistake without making it worse?

Old timer told me to skip the switchbacks on Mount Whitney, worst decision ever

Man I still can't get over the fact that someone actually suggested skipping the switchbacks. That's like telling someone to ignore a blinking red light at a train crossing lol. The scree on that mountain is basically loose gravel on top of more loose gravel, one wrong step and you're sliding fifty feet before you even know what happened. Your buddy who stayed on the trail was definitely the smart one, sometimes those old dudes just want to see if you'll actually listen to bad advice. People have gotten seriously hurt trying to cut corners up there, it's not worth saving twenty minutes just to risk breaking an ankle or worse. Glad you trusted your gut on that one.

Debate: is a full engine rebuild always better than swapping in a used long block?

Man, I feel for you on that crank. Nothing worse than pouring all that time into a rebuild just to find out the block's junk. That's the real gamble with full rebuilds, you don't know what you're gonna find until you're already deep in it. Your buddy's swap sounds like a win, but used motors are a crapshoot too. I've seen guys drop in a "low miles" engine only to have it knock in a month. For my money, if you can get a used long block with a solid warranty from a reputable place, that's the way to go. Saves your back, saves your time, and you're not crying over a scored crank.

Overheard someone at Flying Star say the city's not testing some local wells anymore...

City's probably trying to save money by cutting unnecessary testing. Well water's been fine for years and people are panicking over a taste that's probably just minerals. Maybe focus on why the old testing was even needed in the first place if nothing ever happened.
