Warning: my club met at a diner in Austin and split over a 12 page novella
So our book club met at a diner on South Congress in Austin last Thursday and we picked a 12 page novella to keep things short. Two members said it was too thin to debate and wanted a 400 page novel next time. The other five of us argued the short one gave us way more to chew on than the 380 page book we did in March. Honestly we spent 90 minutes on those 12 pages and only 30 minutes on the big one back in spring. Now half the group is threatening to quit if we go back to doorstoppers. How do you all handle the page count fight without losing members? Looking for rules that actually work for a group of 7.
