My biggest glue disaster happened during a custom order for a wedding guestbook
I was in my workshop last month, rushing to finish a leather-bound guestbook for a couple in Denver. I mixed a fresh batch of PVA, but I must have measured the water wrong because it was way too thin. When I applied it to the spine, it soaked right through the decorative endpaper and left a huge, dark stain. I had to stop everything, carefully peel off the ruined sheet, and recut a new one from my backup paper stock. It set me back almost a full day, but I got it done. Has anyone else had a glue consistency issue ruin a project at the worst possible time?

Okay but a whole day for one sheet of paper? Sounds like a normal Tuesday in any craft room.

A whole day for one sheet of paper is not a normal Tuesday, that's a whole week for me.

Man, I feel that. I've spent an entire afternoon just trying to get the color right on a single card. Or you finally glue something down and realize it's crooked, so you have to start all over. It's never just the paper, it's everything that goes wrong with it.
