Update: I used to trust every account with a cute bio pic, now I run a reverse image search first and it has saved me twice this month
Three years ago I would just look at a profile, see a smiling face and a bio about loving Jesus and dogs, and assume it was a real person. Last month a "single mom from Austin" followed me and within an hour she was pushing a crypto group in my DMs, so now I have a whole routine. I screenshot the pic, run it through a reverse search, and check if the same face pops up on five other names. Two weeks ago that trick caught a guy claiming to be a retired Marine, his photo was actually a stock model from a site in the UK. I also started checking when the account was made, because a lot of these bot profiles got created in the same week. My rule now is simple, if the join date is within 2 weeks and they have more than a thousand followers, I just block without reading the bio. What sites do you all use for reverse image, because mine keeps giving me junk matches for older photos?
