Found out my favorite houseplant is older than I thought
I was reading a plant care book from the library and it said the snake plant in my living room can live for over 25 years with good care. Mine is only 8 years old, so it's got a long way to go. Anyone else have a plant they've had for a really long time?

Have you ever checked the actual age of your plant? I got my spider plant from a clipping my mom gave me, and I only realized last year it was from her original plant she bought in the 90s. It made me wonder how many of our plants are secretly ancient. What made you look up the care info now?

It's wild how much history our everyday stuff holds. My old teapot was my grandma's, and it makes me see my own plants differently now. We're basically living with quiet little heirlooms all the time.

The 90s? That plant is older than me.

My buddy found out his jade plant was a wedding gift to his PARENTS, which is just mind blowing.
