Just found out Bothell's community center was originally a school from 1910
I was digging through old city records online and stumbled on a PDF about the North Creek Community Center. Turns out that building was actually Bothell's first school way back in 1910 before they moved it and turned it into what we use today. Blew my mind since I've been going there for years and had no clue. Anyone else know other hidden history spots around here?

Oh man that's wild, I've been there for swap meets and never once thought about it being a school. There's also the old Bothell log cabin on 104th that they moved from somewhere else. If you like digging into this stuff, try the library's local history room. They've got a ton of old photos and maps that aren't online.

Yeah that library tip is gold, I actually used it for a different project once. But here's something nobody's mentioned - have you looked at the old city council meeting minutes from the 1930s? I was digging through them for something else and found a whole debate about whether to keep that school open or tear it down for the swap meet lot. They argued for like three meetings straight about it. The log cabin on 104th is actually a red herring though, it was originally a stagecoach stop from the 1880s, not a school. Someone in the historical society told me the real school building got converted into a private home off of Main Street around 1942. That house is still standing but nobody knows because there's no plaque or anything. The library archives have the original blueprints if you ask the right person behind the desk.
