I check the brand's Instagram tag before I reply now, and 9 offers out of 10 fall apart
Two years ago I'd get one of those "we love your content, collab?" emails and start drafting a reply right away. Last Tuesday I got one from a skincare brand offering $150 for 3 reels and a story, so I clicked their tagged photos and found 11 other creators posting the same sponsored post from a hotel room in Boise with the caption and all. Every single person got the same rate. Now the first thing I do is check who else already posted and look at their comment sections, and half the time the brand page has 2,000 followers and a link that goes nowhere. Does anyone have a better filter than scrolling tags, because it eats up 15 minutes per offer?
That line about the Boise hotel room got me lol, cause that's the real tell. Here's the thing nobody checks though, look at the brand's tagged photos going back months, not just the last few weeks. If every tagged post is a paid collab and there's almost no real customer posts, they're running a content farm and you're just the next slot on a spreadsheet. Scrolling takes 15 min cause you're looking at the wrong tab, check their oldest tags first and you'll know in 30 seconds.
