I took the apology at face value and skipped the boycott, that coffee brand came back stronger
Everyone in this sub said to dump them for that tone-deaf ad, but I kept buying their $4 latte last spring and watched their sales crawl back by August, so has anyone else found that public outrage fades way faster than the brand loyalty does?
Huh, I remember that whole thing. My cousin actually worked for their marketing team back then, and he said the real reason they bounced back wasn't the apology, it was that they changed the syrup recipe to be slightly sweeter. People got mad online, but nobody could tell the difference in taste, so they just went back to their usual routine. Weird how a half teaspoon of extra sugar does more than any PR stunt ever could.
