That time a craft store posted a tone-deaf apology for selling out of yarn during a storm
I was skeptical when people got mad at a big craft chain for posting a cheerful restock update during a hurricane warning in Florida last year. Then I saw the apology... it was basically "sorry you felt that way" with zero mention of people being stuck without supplies. I think a lot of brands still don't get when to just stay silent or actually show some real concern. Has anyone else seen a brand bungle a natural disaster response like this?

Actually that restock post was during the Bahamas hurricane, not Florida. But you're right that the apology basically just blamed people for getting upset instead of admitting they dropped the ball. Having supplies stuck in warehouses while folks are boarding up windows just looks bad no matter how you spin it.

Next time they'll blame it on a flat tire or something.
