The apology post that got the apology wrong twice in one day
I saw a small coffee chain in Portland mess up an order and then post an apology that blamed the customer for not reading the menu right. People piled on in the comments with screenshots showing the menu was actually wrong on the app. They deleted that apology and put up a new one that said they were sorry if anyone felt confused, which made it worse. By the end of the day they finally owned it and offered a free drink to anyone who used the app that week. What got me was how a real fix only took one direct sentence, but they needed two failed tries to get there. Has anyone else watched a brand dig a deeper hole with a vague apology before just owning the mistake?
