Just realized my garden wall mortar is washing out

Built a brick garden wall last fall. Used a weak mortar mix to save cash. Heavy spring rains washed it out fast. Now the whole thing is leaning bad. Gotta redo it with proper materials. Check your mix specs before starting any job.

Ugh, total agree with wendy_perry about the weak mix. Tried to cheap out on mortar for a small patio step once, same deal. Bought the bargain bag and it just turned to crumbs after one winter freeze. Had to redo the whole thing with proper type S.

Yeah I used to grab whatever mortar was cheapest too. Thought all cement mix was basically the same until I patched a basement wall with the wrong kind. It washed out with the first big rain, left a huge muddy mess. Now I always check the bag for the right type, it's not worth doing twice.
