My street's 'cheapest meal' contest ended with a raccoon in the kitchen...

We all agreed to cook using only stuff from our pantries to save money, and my neighbor left her back door open for air. A raccoon got in and was eating her bean casserole when she walked back in... it just stared at her. What do you do when wildlife crashes your budget dinner plans?

You're right, @hunt.quinn, a possum once stared me down over my last slice of pizza.

Always thought animals would flee, but that raccoon story proves they just don't care, huh?

Well, that's one way to lose a contest. When a raccoon decides your casserole is dinner, you just back away slowly. I had a squirrel get into my chips once during a game night. It just sat there, crunching away, like it paid for the snack. Wildlife doesn't care about your budget or your rules. Now you've got a story instead of a prize.
