Booked a 6am flight to Denver instead of the 9am and saved $118 plus a whole vacation day
For years I just picked whatever departure time was convenient, never even glancing at the early ones. Last month the 6am to Denver came up $118 cheaper than the 9am, and I was at my buddy's place by noon instead of losing the whole first day to travel. Now I sort by price and just deal with the alarm. Anyone else fly stupid early just for the savings, or is there a cutoff where you'd rather pay more?
Man, this is the same tradeoff you see everywhere once you start looking. Cheap cuts of meat need a slow cooker, the discount gym is packed at 5am, the cheaper house is a longer drive. You're basically buying your own time back at a rate only you can decide is worth it. For $118 and a whole extra day in Denver, that alarm clock is an easy call.
