Bought a 30 day Eurail pass for Europe and barely broke even

I dropped $758 on a 30 day Eurail pass last summer thinking it would save me cash hopping between cities. Turns out I only took 6 trains total because I kept staying put in places like Prague and Budapest for a week at a time. If I'd just bought point to point tickets it would have cost around $400 total. Anyone else overbuy on these passes and regret it?

Did you at least get a good workout hauling that pass around? I did the same thing with a 15 day pass, took like 4 trains and spent the rest of the time eating my weight in gelato in Florence. Honestly felt like I bought a fancy bookmark instead of a train ticket.
