Thought carrying a water bottle was pointless, but refill stations are everywhere

I used to buy bottled water constantly while traveling. After noticing free refill spots in airports and parks, I cut my costs and stayed hydrated. Who knew something so simple could make such a difference?

Yeah, the part about airports is so true. I read this article about how major airports are adding way more stations to cut down on plastic waste. Saw it myself last time I was stuck at O’Hare, a line of people at the fancy filtered refill spot by the gates. Makes you wonder why we ever paid five bucks for the bottled stuff.

Last time I was at JFK, the refill station by my gate had a 'out of service' sign on it. I get the idea behind cutting plastic waste, but these stations often seem like a PR move more than a real fix. The water from them sometimes has a weird taste, and I've heard stories about maintenance issues. Plus, when you're traveling with kids or lots of bags, stopping to refill is just another hassle. Bottled water might be expensive, but at least it's reliable and quick. So yeah, I'm not fully sold on the airport refill revolution.

Five bucks for bottled water? That's insane, I've never paid more than three.
