Thought I was being cheap booking a 6am flight to Boise, then I did the math on what I actually saved
Booked a 6am flight out of Sacramento last month because it was $63 cheaper than the 10am option, and I figured the early wake up was worth it for the savings. What I didn't plan for was the $45 overnight parking near the airport since no buses run that early, plus a $14 breakfast I had to buy because I was starving by 8am, which basically ate the whole difference. Has anyone actually crunched the numbers on whether those cheap early flights are worth it once you add in the extra costs, or am I just doing it wrong?
Whoa there, you saved like four bucks and lost a night of sleep, that's not a math problem that's just a bad trade. Next time put that $63 toward a normal hour and call it a win.
