A guy at the Aldi checkout in Dayton showed me his $27 grocery list and it changed how I shop
Ran into him in line about a month ago, receipt in hand, and he pointed at the total like it was a trophy. Said he feeds himself and his kid for $27 a run by picking the store brand on everything and doing one big cook on Sunday. I did the math on my own last trip, $61 for mostly the same stuff. Started writing my list by meal instead of by aisle and I'm down around $32 now. Has anyone else had a stranger just hand them the cheat code like that?
Started doing the Sunday cook thing after my sister told me about it and it honestly saves me more than the store brand swap does. Cook one big pot of chili or a tray of chicken on Sunday and you're not hitting the drive thru by Wednesday. The meal list thing is real too, I used to buy stuff just because it was on sale and then it would rot in the drawer.
