Found a weird way to cut my electric bill

Man, I always figured that stuff was just a drop in the bucket. Then I tried leaving my game console and a couple lamps unplugged for a month. My bill was nearly fifteen bucks lower. Makes you wonder what else is sipping power without you even knowing.

My cable box always feels warm to the touch, even when the TV is off... Do you think that means it's drawing power constantly? I've wondered about my router and the microwave clock too... They seem so small, but if you have a dozen things on standby, it must add up. What's the worst offender you've found in your place? I'm starting to think we're paying for a lot of invisible electricity...

Yeah but honestly I've never seen it make that big a difference for me! Maybe my rates are lower or something. It adds up a little, but most newer stuff sips barely any power on standby.
