My grocery budget survived a really stressful week
Last Tuesday my fridge started making this loud noise and I was sure I needed to drop $300 on a repair. I looked up the problem online and it turned out the condenser coil just needed a good cleaning. I spent 20 minutes with a vacuum attachment and it's running fine now. That $0 fix saved me from blowing my whole grocery budget for the month. Has anyone else had a surprise appliance fix that kept you on track?

Oh man, I'm so glad that worked out for you! I had a similar thing with my dryer last fall - it stopped heating and I was about to call for service, then my partner just pulled out the lint trap area and cleaned the vent tube that goes to the outside. Totally free and it's been fine ever since. It's wild how much money you can save by just googling the problem first instead of panicking. I mean, I'm definitely guilty of jumping to "oh no this is going to cost me" without trying the simple stuff first. So yeah, huge win for you on the grocery budget!
