Paid $140 for a yearly gym pass, went twice, then found the free community center

I signed up for that shiny gym downtown in January thinking I'd finally get fit. Went twice, both times on the same boring treadmill, then realized my neighborhood community center has a weight room for $5 a month. The kicker is the community center is literally two blocks from my house, so the walk is shorter too. Has anyone else dumped money on a fancy membership then found a cheaper option right under their nose?
