I just realized my bullet journal was making me feel bad about myself for over a year.

See, I had the total opposite thing happen. My bullet journal was the only reason I stopped feeling like a mess all the time. It was just a place to dump my to-do list and random thoughts without any pressure to make it pretty. Maybe the problem isn't the tool itself, but what we're told it's supposed to be. All those perfect spreads on social media set a wild standard. I just use a cheap notebook and a pen that doesn't leak. It's the one thing that doesn't judge me for having three things on a Tuesday and twenty on a Wednesday.

Yeah my friend tried to make hers look like the ones online and it stressed her out so much she quit. She switched to a basic list like you said and now it actually helps her.

Totally agree about those perfect spreads setting a wild standard. Morgan.logan has it right, it's just a tool that shouldn't judge you. Why do we make simple things so hard?
