I rolled my eyes at 'main character energy' until I had a day where everything clicked
I always saw 'main character energy' as another dumb internet phrase. Last Thursday, I nailed a big project review and my boss gave me a shout-out in the team chat. I was on cloud nine, so I shared a quick post about it. A buddy from college commented with those exact words, and it stuck with me. It hit me that this isn't about being cocky. It's about recognizing your own wins and feeling good in your skin. Now I spot it when friends post about landing a job or just having a solid day. I toss it into comments to boost them up. That whole thing gave me a new respect for how slang can wrap up a feeling we all get sometimes.

Last summer I finally fixed my deck after putting it off for years. That done-it-myself pride made me get why people post about their small wins. It really is just owning your own story for a minute.

Get why that DIY pride hits so hard. Felt the same rush when I fixed my squeaky kitchen cabinet doors. Owning those small wins just changes your whole outlook.

My buddy replaced his cracked kitchen tile himself last month. Had been staring at it for three years. Said he did a weird little victory dance alone in his kitchen when it was done. Still smiles when he walks over that spot.
