Shoutout to slang dictionaries for clearing up my 'cheugy' confusion
Honestly, I had a moment last week where I called my own outfit 'cheugy' as a joke, but my sister took it the wrong way. Tbh, I thought it just meant kinda lame or outdated. Ngl, I had to dive into some TikTok comments and urban dictionary pages to get the real deal. Now I see people split on this word. One side says it's spot on for stuff that's trying too hard to be cool. The other side says it's just a way to make fun of people for liking basic things. I'm still on the fence about using it. What's your take on 'cheugy' and words like it?

Ugh, I looked up 'cheugy' and decided it's not worth using. Slang that divides people usually just causes drama.

Wow, @olivia_lopez16 has a point about the drama, but tbh my bigger issue is how the meaning changes depending on who says it. Like, when a friend calls their own stuff cheugy it's a joke, but if someone else says it, it feels mean. Ngl, that makes the word itself feel kinda useless because you can never be sure how it lands. It's less about the slang and more about people using fuzzy words as a soft punch.
