The 'Goblin Mode' term finally clicked for me at Home Depot

I was at the Home Depot on Broadway last Saturday grabbing paint for a job and saw this guy in pajama pants and slippers buying a single lightbulb at 2 PM. He had that thousand-yard stare like he'd been in a fog for days. My crew and I have been joking about "goblin mode" for months but I never really got it until I realized I was that guy after a 14-hour day, buying snacks instead of dinner. Anybody else have a moment where a buzzword just suddenly made perfect sense?

Honestly I think exhausted is the polite way of putting it. That kind of work schedule grinds you down way faster than people realize. Yeah he was probably running on fumes, but it's not like he's the only one who's been there. It's just the way these things hit you all at once and you're stuck trying to keep it together for hours.
