A foreman in Toledo ripped my drip loops apart and it made me redo every drop after that
He pointed at my entry point and asked what happens when water runs down the cable, then made me cut and reroute 14 drops that same afternoon. Now I put a loop below every penetration before I even think about zip ties. How low do you all hang yours, or am I overdoing it at 6 inches?
Man, six inches seems like a lot to me. I usually go about two or three inches and that has always passed inspection and kept water off the box. I mean, a drip loop just needs to be the low point so water drips off before it hits your penetration, it doesn't need to be a big swoop. Maybe it depends on your climate though, if you get serious ice buildup that extra slack could help.
