Changed my mind about using push on connectors after a job in Greenville
I used to swear by screw down connectors for everything. Then I did a big install at an apartment complex in Greenville SC and had to terminate 60 drops in a single day. My hands were killing me by noon. The foreman handed me a bag of push on connectors and told me to just try them. I finished the job 2 hours early and only had one bad connection out of all 60. Anyone else made the switch and had good luck with them?

My buddy Dave was the same way, swore up and down that push on connectors were junk. He was doing a big job at a school in Charlotte and ran into the same problem with screw downs killing his hands. He finally caved after his helper showed up late and he had to crank through 40 drops solo. He said after the first 10 push ons he was pissed at himself for being stubborn for years. He told me his failure rate was actually lower with the push ons than his normal screw downs on that job. Now he's the one handing bags of them to new guys on site.

Tbh I went through the exact same thing. I was at a hospital rewire in Raleigh and swore I'd never touch push ons. After the third day of my thumbs feeling like they were gonna fall off I grabbed a bag from the supply closet and it was like a light switch went off. I still have a couple old timers on my crew that give me crap about it but they're slowly coming around.
