That one Tuesday that went from nightmare to golden
Ngl, last spring I had a day that started with a cat chewing through a coax line in a crawlspace full of fiberglass. Took me 45 minutes just to get back there and splice it. Then the next job had a grandma who made me wait while she found her remote, but she tipped me $40 and gave me a plate of homemade tamales. Made the whole week worth it. Anyone else ever get a surprise tip or treat that turned a rough day around?

Maybe it's just me but I'd take an hour of fiberglass misery for a plate of free tamales and cash any day of the week. Plus, now you can flex on every other tech about your grandma-wrangling skills and have a story that's way better than "I fixed a cable in 20 minutes, the end." Sounds like that day actually gave you a solid lunch and a funny tale, which is more than most Tuesdays cough up. Honestly, a smooth predictable day is boring, I'd rather have the chaos with a side of homemade masa.

Hold up, I gotta push back on this a little. A $40 tip and some tamales are nice, but they don't magically erase a day that started with fiberglass in your lungs and a pissed-off grandma who couldn't find her TV remote. You spent 45 minutes in a crawlspace covered in that itchy stuff, then had to wait around while she fumbled with her couch cushions. That's lost time, lost energy, and lost sanity. A cash tip doesn't fix the fact that your skin is gonna feel like a pincushion for the next 48 hours. I'd rather have a smooth, predictable day than a stressful one with a little bonus at the end. The "golden" part is just the lucky ending, not the whole experience.
