Heard someone say 'AI friends' are just a phase, but I'm not buying it

Totally agree, my sister uses one too and it's been huge for her.

PSA: I found out most historical fiction gets battle formations totally wrong

Messy reality is overrated in writing, neat rows of soldiers actually worked well for shield walls in real battles. People forget ancient armies drilled for hours to maintain those formations because they kept everyone alive. The chaos we romanticize would have just gotten you killed fast.

Worst drywall week I've had in 8 years started with a bad batch of mud

Heard from a few guys down at the supply house that USG had some quality issues with their mud recently, so you might be dealing with a bad run from the factory. Those tiny lumps sound like dried-out bits that got mixed in during production, and no amount of stirring is gonna fix that mess honestly. I'd take those buckets straight back to the lumber yard and tell them to swap em out, because that's on the manufacturer, not you.

Just watched a TikTok trend die in real time at my office...

Wait wait wait... her boss actually docked her pay for the cracked windshield? That is insane lmao. I get that she caused damage but that feels so wrong, like she was just trying to get to work on time. But honestly it's even crazier that the coffee cup thing happened at your office too. I saw that trend pop up on my FYP and immediately thought "there's no way that plastic cup is gonna hold up." People really just see something work once on a video and assume it's fine for everyone in every situation.

Tried a character's journal entry as a writing prompt and got way different results than I expected

omg this is so funny because I did something similar with a prompt from a gas station clerk's pov at 3am and people wrote whole novels about their own late night shifts lol. it's wild how a specific voice just unlocks all this emotion in people.
