Rant: a guy at REI spent 10 minutes telling me my sleeping pad review was useless
I posted a review of my sleeping pad last month and said it was great after 2 nights in the backyard. This dude commented that testing gear in a yard tells nobody anything because the ground is soft and flat. He said to sleep on it 5 nights in a row somewhere rocky and cold before I write anything up. So I did 4 nights near Flagstaff in November on frozen ground and guess what, the pad sucked, it bottomed out on my hip by night 2. How do you all decide when a piece of gear has had a real test before you review it?
