inI always wrote my prompts as a single sentence until a workshop leader in Portland said 'give it three layers'
That three-layer trick is basically a story engine. It forces you to add conflict and stakes right from the start. My version is asking "what's the worst that could happen" and then making that the first chapter.

inQuestion about using leftover sourdough starter in a basic cake recipe
Yeah, that "active yeast messed with the baking powder" thing is like when you try to fix one small problem and accidentally create a bigger one.

inQuestion about cutting ad spend on a brand that's not yours
Yeah, that 15% drop would have made me sweat too, @hollyc92. I had a client who wanted a break once and I fought it hard, gave them my whole worried speech. Felt like a real genius when their numbers dipped at first... then they bounced back even better, just like this. Makes you wonder if sometimes we're all just guessing, you know? I still get nervous telling someone to stop spending, but maybe the algorithms just get bored like the rest of us.

inHad a dryer heating element blow out mid-job yesterday
Ever try a quick heat test with a multimeter? I do a continuity check like @the_matthew said, but I also look for hot spots with an infrared temp gun after a short run. That caught a weak element for me once before it fully blew.
