Saw Jenna Marbles' old merch at a thrift store in Columbus and it hit different

Was back home visiting family last month and walked into a Value World near OSU. There it was, a faded 'Team Jenna' hoodie from like 2015 hanging on the rack for $6.99. I just stood there for a minute. That whole era felt so simple, she just dipped out on her own terms and never came back. No lame apology tour, no podcast six months later trying to rebrand. Everyone else from that time is doing some cringe comeback or selling teeth whiteners. She just vanished. I almost bought it but it was a size small and also I felt weird wearing someone's canceled merch. Anyone else run into old merch from a creator who actually stayed gone? Does that make it more respectable or just sad?

The whole "dipped out on her own terms" part really got me. I had a similar thing happen with a YouTuber named Kevin who did woodworking videos. He just stopped posting one day after like 8 years, no goodbye video, nothing. I found one of his old branded T-shirts at a flea market down in Cincy and honestly I bought it, even though it's a medium and I need a large. I wear it to sleep in and it's kind of like a weird time capsule. For me it makes it more respectable because they didn't drag it out or milk the audience for every last dollar. But I also get the sad part, it's like walking past a closed arcade you used to love. Is it weird that I almost feel more loyal to him now than when he was actually making videos?
