I finally stopped getting ghosted by recruiters after trying one thing

I was applying for marketing manager jobs in Chicago for 6 months and never heard back after the first call. Last month, I started sending a follow-up email within 30 minutes of the interview with one specific idea from our talk. Got a call back for a second interview the next day. What's the fastest you've ever sent a follow-up that actually worked?

Actually sending it that fast can look a bit desperate sometimes. I've had better luck waiting a few hours to make it seem more thoughtful, like you actually spent time on it. The key is definitely the specific idea part though, that's what makes it stand out.

Totally get what @the_matthew is saying about the timing. It feels like such a weird dance to figure out. The specific idea is the real win, but the waiting game just adds stress.

Timing games are overrated. If you have a good idea, just send it. Overthinking the delay can make the whole thing feel fake.
