Just realized I wasted 3 months on a resume that didn't matter
I spent 2 hours a night rewriting my resume to match every job posting, thinking it would get me more interviews. Turned out most hiring managers in Denver only look at the first 10 seconds anyway. I should have spent that time on networking instead. Anyone else find that tailoring your resume barely moves the needle?

My buddy spent like a month perfecting his resume for one job and the hiring manager asked him if he'd even read the posting. He got ghosted anyway.

My buddy had almost the exact same thing happen. Spent two weeks rewriting his resume for a "Customer Success Manager" position, even paid someone on Fiverr to tweak it. Got to the first phone screen and the recruiter asked why he applied for a sales job when his whole background was in IT support. He didn't even realize the company was basically a call center on paper. Never heard from them again, obviously. It's wild how much effort people put in but still miss the basic stuff the employer is looking for lol.
