My quiet coworker gave me a resume tip that actually worked

Last month I was frustrated with never hearing back after applying to jobs, so I asked this senior dev who barely talks to anyone for advice. He told me to cut every bullet point down to one line and focus only on results with numbers. Has anyone else tried trimming their resume this aggressively and seen better responses?

Buddy of mine did the exact same thing. He used to have these two line paragraphs for each job, lots of buzzwords like "streamlined" and "synergized". Took the senior dev's advice, cut it all down to one line per job with just a hard number. So instead of "responsible for managing a team of developers and improving code quality across multiple projects" it became "cut bug count by 30% in 6 months". He started getting callbacks within two weeks. Even got a job offer from a place that had rejected him two months earlier with the old resume. Said it felt wrong at first, like he was hiding stuff, but recruiters apparently just scan for the numbers anyway.

Nah, numbers can be faked. Anyone can make up a stat.
