Swore by my old Stanley chisels until I tried a Narex set

I used to think cheap chisels were fine if you sharpened them a lot. Last month I picked up a set of Narex chisels for $60 and the difference was night and day. They held an edge way longer on some oak I was mortising. Has anyone else found a tool they were skeptical about that turned out to be worth the money?

Wait wait wait... you got a full set of Narex chisels for $60? I spent almost twice that on just three of them a few years back. That's insane, I'm kind of jealous honestly. My first set was some no-name brand from a garage sale and I thought sharpening was just part of the deal. But yeah, once you feel how Narex actually holds up on hard oak it's hard to go back. I still keep my old beaters for rough work but those Narex ones are like a cheat code for mortises.

That's how it goes with tools though, isn't it @blakem37. Spend years grinding away with junk, then one good find changes everything. Same with kitchen knives or drill bits really, the cheap stuff just makes you work harder.
