inAm I the only one who thinks boilerplate liability caps are overrated?
That 12% stat from Thomson Reuters really hits home. I've been in those negotiation rooms where everyone acts like the cap is a life or death thing, but honestly, most of the time it's just noise.

inVent: My boss told me to use WD-40 on a washer bearing...
Wait, is this the same guy who uses mayonnaise to polish his car? Bacon grease would probably work for a minute until it goes rancid and starts smelling like a greasy spoon. Then you get to deal with a stuck hinge covered in old bacon fat and a trail of ants besides. Your mileage may vary but most stuff from the kitchen belongs in the kitchen, not on your door hinges.

inFound out my old brass lens polish has been eating through the nickel plating on these vintage Rolleiflexes
Oh man, @jesse994, my buddy left that stuff on his dad's old Leica for about two minutes and the plating just bubbled right off!

inJust hit 200 ABQ hiking trails logged in my app
Counted them once and stopped because most trails around here are just different shades of brown dirt.

inSpent 6 hours chasing a .002 inch offset on a Haas VF-2
Oh man, that is the most frustrating thing when you're chasing a ghost in the machine and it turns out to be something that basic. I remember once I spent a solid 4 hours tramming a Bridgeport vertical mill because the head was cutting a little heavy on one side. I shimmed the knee, checked the ways, even took the drawbar apart. Finally I realized the vise was sitting on a stray chip about the size of a grain of rice, and it was tilting the whole part by like eight tenths. I had a pile of scrap parts and my boss was breathing down my neck. It's always the stupid stuff that eats up your whole day, isn't it?
