Caught my sister faking a "homemade" pie for Thanksgiving using a store-bought crust and the photo evidence was brutal
She swore up and down it was from scratch until I zoomed in on the crimp pattern and found the exact same frozen pie crust box in her trash, so now I'm wondering what other family recipes are lies.

My aunt pulled the same thing two years ago with her "family recipe" apple pie, except she left the store label on the bottom crust... I pulled it out of the oven and could still read the word "Sara Lee" plain as day. Honestly if you want to keep the peace just let it go, because calling her out at dinner just made things awkward for everyone... except my cousin who thought it was hilarious and now brings it up every holiday. But if you really want to know which recipes are real, ask to help cook next time and watch what comes out of the fridge.
