Vent: That $200 air purifier I bought during wildfire season was worth every penny
I dropped $200 on a Honeywell air purifier back in 2020 when the smoke was so bad you could taste it inside my apartment in Sacramento. It ran for three days straight and the filter turned black, but I could actually breathe without coughing. Anyone else bought something for a crisis that ended up being a permanent fixture in your home?

Man that black filter is like a badge of honor for surviving the apocalypse. Pretty sure mine could double as a modern art piece at this point. Ended up keeping mine plugged in year round too because California air is basically a cocktail of smoke, pollen, and car exhaust. Best $200 I ever spent on not feeling like I'm breathing through a dirty sock.

Breathing through a dirty sock" nailed it. I started washing mine every 3 months with a gentle hose spray and that kept my air feeling fresh way longer, have you tried that?
