The time a random commenter told me my Instagram font was giving them a headache

So I had this habit of using those cursive or handwritten fonts in my Instagram stories, you know, trying to look artsy. About 4 months back, some stranger commented on one of my stories and said it was physically hard to read and they had to unfollow because of it. I got defensive at first but then I looked at my own stories and realized they were right. Switched to the standard system font the next day and my engagement actually went up like 20%. Anyone else get roasted by a stranger and had it make your content better?

Oh man this is bringing back memories lol. I had this one dude on Twitter tell me my bio font looked like someone sneezed on the screen and I was so mad for like ten minutes until I checked it on my laptop and yeah it was basically unreadable comic sans scribbles. Switched to plain text and my DMs actually got less weird too.

And then you check it on mobile and it's like reading a ransom note in wingdings. @adamgreen I once had a bio with a sparkle emoji between every word because I thought it looked "aesthetic." Looked fine on my phone. On desktop it looked like my bio had a seizure. Changed it to plain text and suddenly people stopped asking if I was a bot. Go figure.
