Small win: finally locked down a 2 bed in Logan Square after 5 months of hunting
I have been looking for a place in Chicago since February and it has been rough. Rents kept climbing and every open house had like 15 other people there. Last Saturday I walked through a 2 bed near the California blue line stop and the landlord actually called me back the same day. I signed the lease at $1,650 a month, which is $200 less than what I was about to pay for a smaller spot in Wicker Park. The street was quiet and there was a real grocery store two blocks away, not just a gas station. For anyone still looking, how far out from your move date did you start hunting? I feel like starting 5 months early was the only reason this worked.
