Old way: scrubbing creosote with a wire brush for hours. New way: using a rotary whip with polypropylene brushes. Wish I switched years ago.
Found out about rotary whips from a guy at a trade show in Portland last spring. My arms used to ache after every job, especially on those tight flues. Now I knock out a heavy buildup in like 15 minutes flat. The poly brushes don't scratch the liner either. Any of you guys still fighting with hand tools on tough jobs?

That whip setup is a game changer, no doubt. Sold my wire brushes last month and haven't looked back.

Ha! @charlie_ellis I was totally against whips. Changed my mind fast.

Did you catch that article Charlie posted last month about how whips work better for textured hair? That thing really opened my eyes. I always thought brushes were the only way to go, but @charlie_ellis has been leading the charge on this stuff. I'm still on the fence, but I've swapped out two brushes for whips and my hair feels less snagged in the mornings.
