PSA: I finally switched from a basic brush to a rotary whip system for heavy creosote

For about eight years, I just used the standard stiff-bristle brush on a pole, especially for those tough, glazed-up flues in older homes around Pittsburgh. Last fall, a guy I met at a trade show in Harrisburg convinced me to try a rotary whip head on a flexible rod. The difference was night and day on a nasty chimney I did just two weeks ago; it cut my cleaning time almost in half and got a much cleaner finish. Has anyone else made that switch, and what brand of whip do you prefer?

Wait EIGHT YEARS with just a basic brush? That's some serious patience, man. The whip systems are a total game changer.

Patience was my only real skill back then.

Yeah it's wild to think about, like @riley_schmidt said patience was key, but the new tools just let you try stuff so much faster.
