I figured switching my electricity plan to a renewable one would take one phone call and maybe 20 minutes. It took 11 weeks, three phone calls, and two emails before the utility finally flipped me over last Tuesday. The hold times alone ate up almost 4 hours total. The weird part is the guy on the phone kept saying my building was 'not eligible' even though the website let me sign up fine. I finally got a supervisor who found the old account number was still tied to a tenant who moved out in 2019. If you rent and your landlord's name is on the bill, check that first before you waste a month like I did. Anyone else hit a wall like this when they tried to go green on their power plan?
