Just realized the difference between a real apology and a PR statement

I was scrolling through all these influencer apology videos after that whole brand deal fiasco in Austin last month. One of them paused mid-sentence and started tearing up over a screenshot of an old DM they sent. The other one just read off a teleprompter and tagged their lawyer in the caption. The first one actually named the specific person they hurt and gave a timeline of what they'd do next. The second one used the word 'misunderstood' three times in two minutes. Has anyone else noticed the real ones always admit a specific mistake and the fake ones just talk about their feelings?

Notice the fake ones pivot to how hard this period has been for them. Real apologies own the screw-up and don't ask for sympathy. If you're the one who messed up, the story isn't about your feelings.
