Got called out for my coolant mix being way too weak by a senior operator

He said 'You're basically running water, you'll burn up that spindle in a year.' I started checking the ratio with a refractometer every shift now. Anyone else have a simple trick for keeping coolant concentration right?

Totally get that, it's a human thing for sure. We ignore the quiet hum of a fan getting worse just like we ignore a dripping faucet.
