Hit 10,000 parts on the same vise today, zero issues
I run a little 3-axis in my garage and today I hit 10,000 parts machined on the same Kurt vise I bought back in 2017. That's not a huge number for a big production place, but for me it's a milestone that caught me off guard. I've replaced the jaws twice and cleaned the screw maybe five times, but the body hasn't been off the table since I bolted it down. What surprised me is that I never even checked the parallelism on it after the first year, and I measured today just out of curiosity. The front edge was still within half a thou of where it was on day one. I keep thinking about all the setups I've thrown at it, from aluminum to some nasty 4140, and it just sits there. Has anyone else tracked how long a vise holds accuracy before they finally swap it out for a fresh one?

Hit 15k on mine last month, still dead flat... Kurt's are just built different I guess.
